Scouts Enrichment Programme

Our new enrichment programme has started, including the very popular Scouts colony.

The new enrichment programme began in September at The British School of Nanjing, with students taking part in two activities a week. Offering the opportunity to try new things and to build on existing skills and passions, there was plenty of excitement as students linked up with the Swim Squad, signed up to sing with the Choir or put their names down for Drama.

One of the most popular activities in the Primary school has always been our Scouts colony, with almost 50 students opting to join Beavers and Cubs. They started the term working towards their Global Issues Activity Badge by creating a 'display zoo' of endangered animals inspired by Disney Nature’s "Born in China".

As the weeks progress, they will find out why the snow leopards, giant pandas, red crowned cranes and golden snubbed nosed monkeys are endangered and, later in the Spring term will raise money for these endangered animals as part of their Community Impact Badge.

To kick off this great work, each of the 1st Nanjing Scouts was gifted a "Born in China" Plush Toy to inspire their research.
