Senior School

Key Stage 3
In Key Stage 3, lessons are taught by a series of subject specialists with the class tutor having the important pastoral role of coordinating all aspects of the pupils’ academic and social development. The class tutor will normally also deliver the Personal, Social and Health (PSHE) programme, which includes global citizenship and health education.

Specialist teachers deliver a balanced programme based on the English National Curriculum. Students study English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Drama, Art, Computing, Music and PE. In addition, students choose to study at least one Modern Foreign Language, with options including Chinese and German.

Key Stage 4
In Years 10 and 11, students are able to choose subjects from a broad range of options in more depth. Our courses are provided by the UK Cambridge University International Examinations Board (CIE), UK EdExcel and AQA Examinations Board. This two-year programme is globally recognised to be one of the best academically rigorous programmes for this age range of students and enables pupils to gain formally recognised IGCSE qualifications as a result.

Sixth Form
In Years 12 and 13, students will study in even greater depth. By completing A-Level courses, our pupils will be prepared for entry to some of the best universities in the world.

As students prepare for university entrance, they start choosing and specialising in subjects they have the greatest interest in, and are likely to study further. The school will also start working with the students and parents, helping with university entrance applications and suggesting aspects of both academic and personal development on which to focus.

The school places a great emphasis upon a diverse co-curricular programme, which offers students sporting, musical, house and academic opportunities. Students are offered a variety of options to further enrich their learning that may include outdoor education and challenge, water sports, community and charity projects, leadership events, house competitions, and further pursuits in the sports and arts.
